SPA connects airline products with the tourism ecosystem in Phu Quoc

By combining air connectivity with accommodation and destination experiences, SPA aims to provide its partners with greater opportunities to develop comprehensive holiday packages tailored to different customer segments. This approach also strengthens the connection between SPA’s airline products and Phu Quoc’s tourism ecosystem, helping make the island more accessible to travellers from Russia.

SPA’s First Long-Haul Route to Europe

The Phu Quoc–Moscow (PQC–SVO) route is SPA’s first service to Europe and one of the longest routes in the airline’s network to date. The inaugural flight, 9G201, is scheduled to depart Phu Quoc at 16:20 on 13 November 2026 and arrive at Sheremetyevo International Airport at 23:05 local time. In the opposite direction, flight 9G200 is scheduled to depart Moscow at 01:05 on 14 November and arrive in Phu Quoc at 14:50 the same day, with all times given in local time.

The route will initially operate four flights per week, increasing to six flights per week from mid-January 2027, to accommodate Russian travellers seeking winter sun and year-end holidays.

Flights will be operated by wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft featuring three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class, with seat pitches of 60 inches, 38 inches and 34 inches, respectively. All cabins are equipped with personal in-flight entertainment screens and Wi-Fi. Fares include 23 kg of checked baggage, 7 kg of carry-on baggage, and meals and beverages in accordance with the airline’s service policy, bringing the “Resort in the Sky” experience to long-haul journeys.

A key highlight of the Airbus A330 is its Business Class cabin, featuring seats that recline into fully flat 180-degree beds to provide comfort and privacy on long-haul flights. The distinctive character of Phu Quoc is reflected in carefully selected details, from the reddish-brown seat upholstery inspired by the island’s characteristic earth tones to the La Festa fragrance, complemented by thoughtfully curated dining and in-flight entertainment. Together, these elements create a distinctive SPA experience, allowing the spirit of Phu Quoc to be felt from the moment passengers step on board. Looking ahead, SPA aims to introduce Michelin-standard cuisine in Business Class, making every journey a memorable experience.

Đại sứ Việt Nam tại Liên bang Nga Đặng Minh Khôi

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said the direct Phu Quoc–Moscow route will shorten the distance by more than 7,000 km, facilitating people-to-people and business exchanges between the two countries. According to the Ambassador, in the first nine months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed more than 1.1 million Russian visitors, up 161% year-on-year, making Russia the third-largest international source market, with a full-year forecast of a record 1.5 million arrivals. Phu Quoc, voted Asia's most beautiful island, is a particularly popular winter destination among Russian travellers. With visa-free policies in place on both sides, the Ambassador affirmed that the Embassy will continue to work alongside airlines and travel businesses to take Vietnam–Russia aviation cooperation to new heights.

Russia’s selection as SPA’s first European market reflects the potential to attract holidaymakers to Phu Quoc during the winter season, when the island enters its dry season. For SPA, the Moscow route not only expands its international connectivity but also marks a further step in developing its wide-body operations on long-haul routes. Through direct flights and a growing network of partners in the source market, the airline aims to make Phu Quoc more accessible to Russian travellers while helping diversify the island’s international visitor base.
