In recent months, leading European travel magazines from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Finland have showered praise on Sun World Ba Na Hills, with many international journalists expressing admiration for the cable car journey to the mountain summit and the iconic Golden Bridge.

According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city welcomed 12.8 million visitors in the first eight months of 2025, including five million international arrivals, a 23.4% year-on-year increase. The number continued to climb in the third quarter, reaching 5.8 million international tourists in the first nine months of the year.

Among Da Nang’s international markets, European travelers have shown a particular fondness for the coastal city. From the Netherlands to Turkey, foreign writers describe Da Nang as “a must-visit stop on any journey through Vietnam” — a place where culture, architecture, and nature blend seamlessly in a scene that fascinates Western visitors. In Azië & Down Under Magazine (the Netherlands), journalist Mark Lieffers portrays Da Nang as “a city where tradition and modernity go hand in hand”, where the past and the future share the same glowing skyline.

TThe city’s appeal, according to these outlets, lies in its diversity of attractions: symbolic bridges, historic landmarks, and rich culinary traditions. All these authentic experiences coexist harmoniously with modern leisure and entertainment offerings – most notably, Sun World Ba Na Hills.

Situated 1,414 meters above sea level, Sun World Ba Na Hills is often described by European journalists as “a paradise above the clouds.” The cable car journey to the summit is not just a mode of transportation but also an engineering marvel of world stature, holding multiple Guinness World Records and wowing visitors from across the globe. Lieffers described the ride along the more than five-kilometer route as “flying into another world.” Sharing the same sentiment, TourMaG (France) called the experience “a ritual of emotion” — a moment when one leaves behind the noise of daily life to enter a surreal space where architecture and nature blend perfectly.

Upon reaching Sun World Ba Na Hills, writer Ayşe Akalın from Aviation Turkey described the destination as “a fantasy brought to life.” TravMag (Belgium) compared Ba Na to “an unexpected mirror, allowing Europeans to see the familiar aspect of their own world from a completely new perspective” – a combination of French romance and Vietnamese grace, delicately interwoven into “a magical world above the clouds.” According to Akalın, Ba Na Hills enchants visitors not only through its architecture but also through its mild climate, allowing them to experience “four seasons in a single day.” She wrote, “A crisp spring morning, a bright summer noon, a breezy autumn afternoon, and a chilly winter night.” Time seems suspended here, and each moment has its own flavor. This ever-changing atmosphere, she noted, makes many Western travelers call Ba Na Hills “a playground in the clouds,” where people, nature, and emotions blend together, and no one can ever predict what surprises await them there.

According to TravMag (Belgium), Ba Na Hills is the perfect destination for those seeking “Instagram-worthy views.” From the French Village, the indoor Fantasy Park with its slides and themed attractions, cobbled streets, the St. Denis Church, and lively squares, to vibrant street performances, upbeat music, and the Ba Na Brew House – Vietnam’s highest-altitude craft brewery – the experience feels complete. Aviation Turkey emphasized that “the harmonious fusion of landscape, architecture, and experience” has made Ba Na Hills “one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive destinations.”

Yet what fascinates international media the most remains the Golden Bridge – the architectural masterpiece that, according to Ikkunapaikka (Finland), has turned Ba Na Hills into a global sensation. Suspended among the clouds, the nearly 150-meter-long bridge curves gracefully along the mountainside, supported by two giant stone hands rising from the earth. TourMaG described it as “a sight beyond imagination,” while Mark Lieffers referred to it as “a creation with a fairytale-like aura, as if a mythical Vietnamese giant were lifting the bridge in his hands.”

Through these glowing words from European journalists, Sun World Ba Na Hills clearly stands out as a must-visit destination on any journey to Da Nang. The trip becomes truly complete when, after relaxing on the beach and exploring the city’s rich culture and cuisine, travelers ascend to this surreal mountaintop world — where wonders await beyond the clouds, just as TourMaG beautifully wrote: “It is as if Europe and Asia meet on this mountaintop.”
