On the afternoon of November 24, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) — the airline invested in and developed by Sun Group — officially welcomed its fourth owned aircraft. The A321NX landed at Noi Bai on the afternoon of November 24th.

This is also the second Airbus A321NX operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways. As the latest variant of the A321 family, the A321NX features a comprehensively upgraded cabin, including higher ceilings, larger windows, and an advanced air-circulation system equipped with HEPA filters that remove up to 99.9% of fine particles and bacteria. These enhancements ensure a fresher, cleaner cabin environment and create a spacious, safe, and comfortable experience for every passenger.

Notably, the jet is powered by next-generation LEAP-1A engines, delivering exceptional operational efficiency — cutting fuel consumption by up to 20%, reducing CO₂ emissions by 50%, and lowering noise levels by 75%, all contributing to a remarkably smooth flight experience.

The arrival of the new aircraft comes as Vietnam’s aviation and tourism sectors enter their busiest season of the year. This additional capacity enables Sun PhuQuoc Airways to proactively increase seat supply and maintain consistent service quality during the Christmas, New Year, and especially the 2026 Lunar New Year peak travel periods.

Notably, the aircraft utilizes the new generation LEAP-1A engine, offering superior operational efficiency: saving up to 20% fuel, reducing CO₂ emissions by 50%, and decreasing noise by 75%, thereby providing an exceptionally smooth flight experience. The new aircraft was delivered at a time when Vietnam's aviation and tourism market is entering its busiest period of the year. This addition of resources enables Sun Phu Quoc Airways to proactively increase capacity and ensure stable service quality during the peak season of Christmas, New Year, and especially the Lunar New Year 2026.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is currently operating its first three domestic routes and preparing for a major network expansion starting in 2026.

According to its roadmap, the airline will begin broadening its network from early 2026. Beginning in March, SPA will launch regular services on the Da Nang – Phu Quoc and Nha Trang – Phu Quoc routes. Also in 2026, the carrier plans to open international routes from Phu Quoc to South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India.

The presence of SPA helps elevate Phu Quoc’s position.

With Phu Quoc set to become a special administrative zone and chosen as the host destination for the Asia–Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in 2027 — an event expected to welcome 10,000–12,000 high-level delegates from 21 major economies — the island is facing a golden opportunity to elevate its image on the global stage.

To prepare for this transformative phase, on November 18, Sun Group officially assumed operation of Phu Quoc International Airport, marking a crucial step toward enhancing service quality, boosting operational capacity, and building a robust infrastructure foundation ahead of APEC 2027.

Against this backdrop, the presence of an airline carrying the island’s name — with a modern fleet, a well-structured, differentiated development strategy — will play a vital role in driving tourism, strengthening global connectivity, and elevating the stature of Phu Quoc and Vietnam.
