The Northeastern region is a growing commercial hub, in which Van Don International Airport, the first privately-developed airport in Vietnam, plays a leading role. This is a mixed civil-military airport and a class 4E airport according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The airport features deluxe amenities With a total of 7 aircraft parking lots and 3.6 km-long, 45 m-wide runways that is eligible for taking off most advanced aircrafts such as Boeing 787. The apron area has 07 parking positions, including 03 remote parking locations and 04 near parking locations. The terminal has a designed capacity of 2.5 million passengers per annum, and its 13,542 m2 cargo can handle 50,000 tons of goods per year. This project creates a growth engine for Van Don in particular and Quang Ninh in general, as well as promotes and attracts investors to the heritage land.
